At Senegal’s Doorstep: A Taste of Safari
A blend of sandy trails and tricky navigation in the savannah.

Another new feature of the Africa Eco Race: Stage 11 takes competitors across the border into Senegal for a unique special stage in the Sahelian savanna. This day will likely determine the final rankings. The sandy special stage offers a safari-like experience with tricky tracks winding between baobabs and acacias. The Mauritanian off-road sections give way to unmarked paths that constantly crisscross, presenting a different navigational challenge from Mauritania. Final standings will be confirmed at the Mpal bivouac after this stage.

We congratulate AFRICA ECO RACE for their support AMADE and enabling Mauritanian and Senegalese students to have access to solar lamps. A child with light at home, is a child able to do his homework when night comes.

For us as service-team, the AER feels like going on a road-trip with the whole family ! Together we follow the ancient African trails. Together with the complete organization of the AER we give it all to bring our teams to the legendary Lac Rose ! Being true fans of the AER we enjoy the whole concept as you find in no other race, as one of our SSV pilots reminded me, there is only one real race to Dakar !
