Performance, motorsport and the spirit of competition reunite the Africa Eco Race and BRM Chronographs, whom will be the official time keeper of the race.
For its 10th edition, the Africa Eco Race will welcome a record number of competitors. More than a hundred vehicles, nearly 200 riders, drivers and co-drivers, will start from Monaco on December 31st. The big favorites of the event will be at the “rendez-vous”: Vladimir Vasilyev, winner in Car category in 2017, Gerard De Rooy in the category Truck and Pal Anders Ullevalseter with his KTM bike. However, many other could come and tickle them.
In a little less than 2 months, the 10th edition of the Africa Eco Race will start from the Principality of Monaco for 15 days of surprises, novelties, in the purest tradition of a marathon Rally! From December 31st to January 14th competitors will cross Morocco, Mauritania and Senegal before an exceptional finish at Lac Rose.
A sporting and human adventure that will test endurance and navigation skills.
A little more than two months from the start of the 2018 AFRICA ECO RACE, all the lights are green for this 10th edition to start in the best possible conditions on December 31st from the Principality of Monaco. Currently and until November 15th (closing date for registrations) there is some organizational turmoil. Indeed, the staff for the event is complete and the organizing team is in the process of preparing all the necessary equipment and planning all the logistics. Entries are still coming in via the online app and it can already be said that this 2018 edition will be a record in terms of participants. The recos team came back and announced that they had found some interesting new features as to the course. The TV broadcasting agreements with the different countries are finalized and again, there is excellent news about the broadcasts of the AFRICA ECO RACE. To sum it up, everything is on the right path.
Like every year, the first week of September is marked by the end of vacations and the AFRICA ECO RACE is back at work. Considerable work is ahead as this 10th edition is a real success in terms of entries.
The AFRICA ECO RACE, an African Cross Country Rally but not only ...
The caravan of the rally consists essentially of competitors with their teams, but also of press vehicles, which are more and more numerous on the AFRICA ECO RACE. This great African rally is also accessible in RAID, a “package” which only requires basic preparation of the vehicle without any notion of timing and thus of performance. There are also all members who compose the organizing team such as : Checkpoints, Timing , Medical Team but also catering, TV production team, “Malle Moto” truck, tire assistance, etc. Finally, the AFRICA ECO RACE also targets the future of the African continent through its actions of solidarity and sustainable development.
As we announced, this 10th edition of the AFRICA ECO RACE will have surprises. First of all, with a significant increase in terms of participants attracted by this great African rally from Monaco to Dakar and which is a return to the roots of this discipline. But also, this year and for the first time, a "500 MILES" stage will appear! A lot of people expected for the Official Start on December 31st 2017 till the finish at Lac Rose on January 14th 2018!
After the success of the 9th edition, the AFRICA ECO RACE team quickly got back to work in order to prepare the 10th edition. At the program, novelties and surprises but always in the pure tradition and following Thierry SABINE’s footsteps.
The organizers of the AFRICA ECO RACE are very aware of the investment needed to participate in such an adventure. That's why everything is done so that everyone can enjoy it !
Competition and sharing define the spirit of the Africa Eco Race

We congratulate AFRICA ECO RACE for their support AMADE and enabling Mauritanian and Senegalese students to have access to solar lamps. A child with light at home, is a child able to do his homework when night comes.

For us as service-team, the AER feels like going on a road-trip with the whole family ! Together we follow the ancient African trails. Together with the complete organization of the AER we give it all to bring our teams to the legendary Lac Rose !
Being true fans of the AER we enjoy the whole concept as you find in no other race, as one of our SSV pilots reminded me, there is only one real race to Dakar !

The enthusiam and passion of the team as well as their constant research of bringing eco-responsable actions to their event, make the AFRICA ECO RACE one of the unmissable events of the Principality and we are proud to welcome them every year. We encourage everybody to buy a maximum of solar lamps provided by AMADE and AFRICA ECO RACE. More than a daily use, they will enable senegalese and mauritanian children to walk safely home after dark and will contribute to reducing the racing vehicules' carbon footprint.
