Just like the original Dakar back then, when on December 31st was the essential “rendez-vous” of the greatest Cross-Country Rally, the AFRICA ECO RACE will start from Monaco on the same date. Then the entire caravan of this 3rd "MONACO-DAKAR" will join the port of Sète to embark on the boat, heading towards the African continent before crossing Morocco, Mauritania and Senegal, just before finishing at Lake Rose, on 14 January 2018.

NEW DECADE, NEW WEBSITE

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, the website of the AFRICA ECO RACE is redesigned.
More intuitive, clearer, this new version will gather all the necessary information to register and participate or follow this unforgettable adventure.

WHAT AWAITS YOU

December 29th and 30th 2017 will be dedicated to administrative and technical checks. On December 31st 2017, during the Official Start, the visitors will be able to applaud all the competitors in Monaco, right next to the Monaco Christmas Market. Then, all the participants of the 3rd "MONACO - DAKAR" will join the port of Sète. There also, the visitors and the close friends or family will be reunited before the boarding on the ferry for those who will enter in the legend.

On the ferry, the cruise will be a moment of conviviality where the participants will celebrate New Year’s Eve in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea and will be able to meet with one another before the race. But it won’t be only a relaxing cruise ! Indeed, it will also be the opportunity to participate at the briefing and to get the road book for stage 1.

January 2nd 2018 will mark the start of the Rally with the 1st Stage, just after the disembarking from the ferry in Nador, Morocco.

From January 6th till the morning of January 8th 2018, after 5 stages in Morocco, the caravan will stop at the Dakhla lagoon and its blue waters in the heart of the Moroccan desert. A privileged moment to admire magnificent sunsets, repair if needed and charge everyone’s batteries before heading towards the second part of the rally in "famous" Mauritania.

From 8th to 13th of January 2018, competitors will attack the dunes and Mauritanian sand. But the co-drivers will also have a lot to do as this can be very difficult in navigation. At the program, at least one loop and who knows, a surprise prepared by Jean Louis SCHLESSER and René METGE, both respectively, director of the event and sports director. But, for the time being, let’s keep the suspense.

Finally, on January 14th 2018, will be the achievement of the 6500 kms of the race. The traditional online start will be given on the NIOKHOB beach. This final stage will sound like a reward. The podium for the 10th anniversary of AFRICA ECO RACE will be held at Lake Rose where all participants will receive their trophy. A very emotional moment to end with !
